Warren Edward Buffett (/ ˈbʌfɪt / BUFF-itt; born August 30, 1930) is an American business executive, investor and philanthropist. He is currently the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is one of the world's most successful investors and has a net worth of over $ 113 billion since June 2022, making him the fifth richest man in the world.
Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He became interested in business and investment in his youth, eventually joining the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1947 before graduating and graduating from the University of Nebraska at the age of 19. He went on to graduate from Columbia Business School, where he formed. his investment philosophy about the concept of value investing developed by Benjamin Graham. He studied at the New York Institute of Finance to focus on his economic background and soon thereafter started various business relationships, including one with Graham. He founded Buffett Partnership, Ltd in 1956 and his company eventually acquired a textile factory called Berkshire Hathaway, which took its name to form a diversified holding company. In 1978, Charlie Munger joined Buffett as vice-chairman.
Buffett has been the chairman and chief shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway since the 1970s. He has been dubbed Omaha's "Oracle" or "Sage" by the international media. He is known for his firmness in investing, as well as his own savings despite his vast wealth.
Buffett is a charity, and has pledged to donate 99 percent of his wealth to charitable donations, especially through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He founded the Giving Pledge in 2010 with Bill Gates, where billionaires promised to donate at least part of their wealth.
